A quarter of the Operation Protective Edge analysts on the Israel Consulate General in New York’s recommended list for media and community relations officials come from Bar-Ilan University. Washington, D.C. – The American Jewish community applauded Congress as requested emergency funding for Israel’s Iron Dome missile defense program was approved nearly unanimously. The Jewish Federations of North America praised legislators for coming together to pass legislation supporting the Jewish state shortly after Hamas terrorists killed three Israeli soldiers, violating a ceasefire negotiated by the United States, United Nations and others.

More than two dozen American Jewish communal leaders are currently touring communities in Southern Israel in an emergency solidarity mission of the Jewish Federations across North America (JFNA). The mission is an effort to visit locales directly affected by rocket attack and to demonstrate that the North American Jewish community stands alongside the people of Israel at this time.
